What’s the best way to clean new flooring day-to-day?

Sweep or vacuum (without a beater bar) regularly to remove grit that can scratch the surface, and damp-mop with a pH-neutral, flooring-specific cleaner. Avoid steam mops, excess water and vinegar-based cleaners, which can dull finishes or damage cores over time.

What warranty comes with Timberstar flooring?

Warranty length varies by product — typically 15–25 years structural warranty on engineered and hybrid flooring, with shorter wear-layer warranties depending on the range. Your written quote will specify the exact warranty terms for the product you choose.

Does warranty cover installation as well as the product?

Product warranty (covering manufacturing defects) and installation workmanship are usually covered separately. Ask your Timberstar consultant to confirm both in writing before you proceed, so you know what’s covered if an issue arises after the job is done.

How do I prevent scratches from furniture and pets?

Fit felt protector pads under all furniture legs, use rugs in high-traffic zones, keep pet nails trimmed, and avoid dragging heavy furniture across the floor. These simple habits prevent the majority of avoidable surface damage.

Can scratched or damaged flooring be repaired without replacing the whole floor?

Often, yes. Solid and some engineered timber can be spot-sanded and refinished. Hybrid and laminate flooring generally can’t be resurfaced, but individual damaged boards can sometimes be replaced if spares were kept from the original installation.

What should I do if I notice gaps or movement in my new floor?

Small seasonal gaps (1–2mm) are normal as timber responds to humidity changes and often close up again. Larger or persistent gaps, cupping, or lifting should be reported to us promptly — most issues are easiest to resolve within the warranty period.
